«... in the water amidst the sandy reaches of the Espiguette...»

«...satisfying the requirements of visitors to Port Camargue...»

« My first visit to Port Camargue was in the seventies, there were three wooden jetties in the water amidst the sandy reaches of the Espiguette. Only a handful of visionaries such as Jean Balladur, lead architect for the resort, could have imagined that this site would become one of the largest marinas in Europe.

And what an adventure the past thirty years have been! We can certainly question whether such a development should have been made on the Espiguette site, but the creators and developers of Port Camargue set and met strict objectives in terms of the quality of facilities, the surrounding environment and economic development arising from the port's activity.
In 2002, the Commune of Grau-du-Roi took over the running of the port from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This is certainly a major change in structural terms but my aim as director is to carry on the work started by my predecessors.
Port Camargue must remain a reference amongst boating marinas. In the past this was based on the quality of the site, security for the boats.. today and tomorrow we also have to consider the quality of services available and environmental protection

The team that I lead is above all concerned with satisfying the requirements of visitors to Port Camargue, whether they come for a day or several years, from pedestrian visitors to property owners. The task is difficult but that is our mission. »
